A seaside town on the Cantabrico coastline (known in Spain as the Costa Verde) Gijón is a modern busy town with a big marina and plenty of Spanish history.
Gijon is a super base for exploring the North of Spain and is the biggest city in Asturias.
The Spanish enjoy "turismo rural" meaning "Touring the Countryside" in this region and as a result its packed with places to stay in the form of private apartments, hotels, and Paradors (Historic Buildings converted to use as fantastic lodging houses usually with a restaurant and often gardens).
Another way to enjoy the area is camping and there are plenty of campsites and camp grounds to choose from.

Bienvenido a Gijon
Una ciudad en línea de playa en la costa del Cantabrico (conocida en España como la costa Verde) Gijón es una ciudad moderna con una bellisima marina y llena de gran historia.
Gijon, actualmente la ciudad mas grande de Asturias es una base estupenda para explorar el norte de España. Los españoles gozan el "turismo rural" en esta región y consecuentemente podemos encontrar gran variedad de apartamentos, hoteles, casas rurales y Paradores Nacionales (edificios históricos convertidos al uso publico como establecimientos hoteleros, con fantasticos restaurantes, jardines, vistas...)
Otra manera de gozar de esta zona es acampando y por eso podemos encontrar muchas zonas de acampada ya al natural o en campings.
