Gijon has two big sandy beaches separated by a district called Cimadevilla. The beaches are Poniente Beach and San Lorenzo. San Lorenzo beach is the biggest and has a designated area for the popular sport of surfing. The tall stylish buildings of Gijon overlooking the beaches make for a picturesque seafront.
